US President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, asking his help to bring the Taliban to the negotiating table, Pakistan media reported Monday.
The letter was received by Imran Khan on Sunday morning and the PM was quoted as saying that Pakistan would fully cooperate in this regard.
Efforts for Afghan peace accelerated when US appointed Zalmay Khalilzad as a special representative in September to facilitate the talks.
He has visited the region twice and has called on both the Afghan government and the Taliban to form their negotiating teams.
The envoy has begun his third tour to the region.
