Pakistan’s Qureshi in Qatar for Afghan peace talks
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Qatar on Sunday where he would discuss Afghan reconciliation process and other regional issues.

During his one-day official visit, Qureshi will hold meeting with Qatari leaders, Pakistani media reported.
The officials are expected to exchange views about the Afghan reconciliation process, bilateral relations and other important regional and global issues.
Speaking about the Afghan peace process, Qureshi said that Pakistan had decided on regional outreach and on taking important allies into confidence, as well as exchanging views with them about the regional situation and the Afghan issue.
Last week, Qureshi visited Afghanistan and met the leaders in Kabul over the peace process and announced his country’s support.
On Saturday, President Ashraf Ghani in a phone call with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz discussed the Afghan peace.
In this conversation, Ghani thanked Saudi King for its role in the Afghan peace process, said the statement.
According to the statement, President Ghani appreciated Saudi Arabia's role to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan and said the Jeddah conference is a good step forward for the next movements in peace.
Meanwhile, King Salman said Saudi Arabia will continue to help peace in Afghanistan and that they believe in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process, the statement said.
This comes after Saudi Arabia attended meetings between US and Taliban representatives in Abu Dhabi.
