UN-blacklisted Taliban figure arrested by Afghan security forces
Afghan police have arrested a former deputy finance minister of the Taliban who was blacklisted by the United Nations on Monday, the Interior Ministry said.

Abdul Jalil Haqqani faked his identity and was seeking to escape to Pakistan through Spin Boldak crossing with a fake passport, the ministry said in a statement.
Haqqani was arrested by the Afghan Interior Ministry’s agents of Interpol, the statement added.
The UN has blacklisted a person with the same name Abdul Jalil Haqqani as deputy for deputy foreign minister of the Taliban regime.
Haqqani, blacklisted in 2001 for acts and activities of the Taliban authorities, was a member of the Taliban Supreme Council as of May 2007 and a member of the Financial Commission of the Taliban Council, according to UN.
